Potential Changes to MS Treatment Access in Australia

Members of the Australian multiple sclerosis community are likely aware of media reports that two key MS medications, Ocrevus and Kesimpta, are at risk of being withdrawn from the Australian Government’s Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS), a program that supports the affordability of prescription medications for Australian residents.

It is important to note that, at this moment, no final decisions have been made in this regard.  Any Australian living with MS that is currently benefitting from one of these treatments should remain on it, working with their healthcare team to navigate any future changes that may occur.

While we will seek to update this page with more information as it comes to hand, we would encourage people to monitor MS Australia’s website and social media for important updates.  As a starting point, the organisation issued a media release yesterday that can be read in full on their website here.
