The second episode of an MS Auckland webinar series that MStranslate has been participating in was on the topic of Autologous Haematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant (AHSCT) as a treatment for multiple sclerosis.

In this instance, our Co-founder, Brett Drummond, was joined by two guests: Dr Jennifer Massey (St Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney) and Dr Zoe Dyer (Auckland City Hospital).  Their discussion explored the process of AHSCT, the reasons why it has been investigated as a treatment in multiple sclerosis, the people living with MS who may benefit from it most, and the early outcomes of research studies into its efficacy and effectiveness.

For those that were not able to watch the live broadcast, we are pleased to be able to share a part of this event below.  Unfortunately, a technical glitch on the evening resulted in the start of the webinar recording being delayed.

We sincerely thank Nicola Bitossi and the MS Auckland team for the opportunity to contribute to such an important and impactful event.  We also extend our sincere gratitude to Jennifer and Zoe for generously volunteering their time, expertise and experience, as well as to the live audience for their thoughtful engagement, genuine interest, and insightful questions.

As always, if you have additional questions on any of the topics explored in the above feature, please comment below or join the conversation on our social channels.
