While MStranslate has been built upon a desire to report on the latest developments in multiple sclerosis research as they occur, we are also committed to sharing and illuminating the lived experience of MS.  While the latter is done predominantly though the sharing of individual journeys, it is also important to recognise that there is research being pursued in this area as well.  One topic being explored is ‘Surplus Suffering’, which is the additional suffering inflicted on people living with multiple sclerosis as a result of seeking help for their condition.

Recently, MStranslate partner, Dr Sally Shaw, interviewed subject matter expert, Dr Therese Burke (University of Notre Dame Sydney), to learn more about this fascinating area of investigation.
