Revisiting ECTRIMS Congress 2025 MStranslate November 18, 2025 ECTRIMS, Podcasts, Research Between September 23 and 26, 2025, the 41st annual ECTRIMS Congress took place in Barcelona, Spain, co-convened by the European Committee for Treatment and Research in Multiple Sclerosis (ECTRIMS) and Rehabilitation in Multiple Sclerosis (RiMS). This event remains the world’s largest multiple sclerosis (MS) research conference, attracting more than 9,000 delegates to this year’s meeting. THE ECTRIMS PODCAST During the event, our Co-founder, Brett Drummond, once again returned as host of the official Congress podcast, reviewing and exploring the most relevant outcomes from each day’s presentations in collaboration with special guests. Sitting down with Brett to share their knowledge and insights in Barcelona were: Pre-Day: Dr. Alvaro Cobo Calvo, Multiple Sclerosis Center of Catalonia (Cemcat). Listen here. Day 1: Professor Maria Pia Amato, University of Florence. Professor Amato had the honour of delivering the keynote address at ECTRIMS 2025. Listen here. Day 2: Dr. Barry Singer, The MS Center for Innovations in Care. Listen here. Day 3: Dr. Sharmilee Gnanapavan, Barts Health and Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust. Listen here. Late Breaking Abstracts: Dr Nick Cunniffe, Cambridge Clinical Multiple Sclerosis Research Group. Listen here. At a meeting where delegates simply can’t attend every presentation, a resource like The ECTRIMS Podcast remains invaluable, helping attendees stay informed about the developments they may have missed. Excitingly, Brett’s involvement in The ECTRIMS Podcast will extend into 2026, so keep monitoring your preferred podcast platform for future episodes. Past episodes can also be found in our podcast library here. PATIENT COMMUNITY DAY Patient Community Day 2025 utilised the same event format that debuted in 2024, where individual podium presentations were replaced by topic focussed panel discussions, also hosted and moderated by Brett. For those that were not able to attend in either capacity, a full recording of the livestream is now available to watch below. SESSION ONE: SESSION TWO: PEOPLE WITH LIVED EXPERIENCE PANEL: The above event was complemented by an additional episode of The ECTRIMS Podcast, featuring Julie Petrin, Director of Impact and Evaluation at MS Canada (and a person living with MS), and Non Helena Smit, CEO of MS South Africa. Their post-event discussion with Brett can be found here.
