MS Milan 2023 was the 9th Joint ECTRIMS-ACTRIMS Meeting, coordinated by the European Congress for the Treatment and Research Into Multiple Sclerosis (ECTRIMS) and the Americas Committee for Treatment and Research in Multiple Sclerosis (ACTRIMS).  As indicated by the event’s name, it was held in Milan, Italy, between the 11th and 13th of October, 2023.

This year, our co-founder, Brett Drummond, was once again joined at the meeting by Dr Travis Stiles, CEO of Novoron Bioscience and valued member of the MStranslate team.  Excitingly, for the first time, both men were also joined by Dr Joanna Cobbin, who has recently joined the MStranslate team as another skilled science communicator.

At the end of each day, Brett, Travis and Joanna sat down to share and discuss their individual insights from the conference presentations they had attended.  For ease of reference, each of these daily summary videos can now be watched below.

DAY 1

Brett and Travis cover topics such as myelin plasticity and repair, macrophages / microglia as biomarker for rapid disease progression, and reflect on the keynote address delivered by Professor Stephen Hauser from University of California San Francisco (UCSF).

DAY 2

Brett, Travis and Joanna discuss topics such as the gut microbiome, biomarkers, potential future therapeutic targets, environmental, genetic and epigenetic risk factors, AHSCT and Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), and more!

DAY 3

Brett and Joanna reflect on the event’s final day and cover presentations exploring radiologically isolated syndrome (RIS), prodromal MS, a genetic variant associated with MS severity and COVID-19.

As always, if you have any questions for Brett, Travis and/or Joanna on any of the topics they explored in these videos, please either comment below or join the conversation on our social channels.
