Community Q&A: The Blood-Brain Barrier

What is the blood-brain barrier? Why is the blood-brain barrier important in multiple sclerosis (MS)?  Is research being undertaken to repair the blood-brain barrier in people living with multiple sclerosis, to prevent new damage from occurring?
